MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - People who live in Maple Heights packed a roundtable discussion at the public library, voicing concerns about escalating gun violence that impacts their safety and quality of life.

One woman who says her family has lived in the city for nearly 30 years recounted frightening moments after witnessing a shooting, “All of a sudden I hear a big bang, my husband Larry tells me to lock the doors, roll up the window, and this guy was shooting somebody right there in broad daylight as if it was nothing. Everyone was numb to it.”

The Maple Heights mother also questioned city leaders about why they have not heard anything about whether there have been arrests in the deadly carjacking at the Giant Eagle in broad daylight.
