MARSHFIELD, Mo. — The 5th annual "Marshfield Remembers" memorial was held at Patriot Park on Thursday to remember the lives lost during 9/11.
Throughout the day, people were able to walk through and see projects from students of the Marshfield R-1 School District and nearly 3,000 US flags put down, each symbolizing an individual who died that tragic day.
A tribute was held at 8 p.m. with two towers of light in the night sky, with various first responders honoring the sacrifice made on that day.
The Marshfield High School Concert Choir performed when the lights rose, and Bryant Robinson played the song “Taps” prior to lights out.
The Harris family, who have attended the memorial every year, says they still remember the shock of watching the Twin Towers fall on television.
