A federal judge in the Southern District of Texas sentenced a former Corpus Christi Police Department officer to 15 years in prison on Sept. 11 for coercing a 15-year-old girl into a sexual relationship .

According to court documents, police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, began investigating Daniel Verduzco, 31, on Jan. 8 after a concerned parent told them that she thought her daughter was involved in a relationship with a Corpus Christi police officer.
