MANCHESTER, N.H. —
State officials say 15 people have gotten sick with Giardia, a parasitic infection of the small intestine, after drinking from a natural spring in Bethlehem .
The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services said laboratory tests of the spring on Old Franconia Road detected both Giardia and E. coli bacteria.

Officials advise anyone with water collected from the spring to either discard it or boil it before use to prevent illness.
While anyone can get Giardia, DHHS said children and people with weakened immune systems are at greater risk. Some people may develop symptoms that last for weeks or longer.
