PORTSMOUTH, N.H. —

A seven-year wait is over for fans of the fictional Harvard professor Robert Langdon, as Seacoast author Dan Brown has released his latest novel.

Brown, best known for "The Da Vinci Code," released his newest novel, "The Secret of Secrets," Wednesday night to a sold-out crowd at Portsmouth Music Hall.

Brown's latest thriller finds Langdon in Prague, where he becomes involved in a murder plot and a high-stakes race to destroy a groundbreaking manuscript.

"This was a tough one to write," Brown said. "It's by far the most ambitious thing I have ever tried to write, very intricately plotted. Also, I am hoping for the readers that it's a whole lot of fun. I enjoyed writing it."
