A girl who was stabbed multiple times during the Southport attack told her mum 'she knew she was dying' because it went 'quiet and fuzzy', the public inquiry into the horror was told.

Her mum told the inquiry that she was waiting outside the Taylor Swift-themed dance party when she saw her daughter running, her clothes 'covered in something'.

The mum, who read her statement to a hushed Liverpool Town Hall, said: "At first I thought it must be paint, but I soon realised it was blood. She heard me call her and ran back to me. Telling me as she did 'mum, I’ve been stabbed'."

She continued: "Nothing could have prepared me for the horror of seeing my child so horrifically injured...
