It’s been a pretty good week for Ravi Desai, to say the least.

On Monday, the North Allegheny senior golfer announced his commitment to play collegiately at Penn State.

Then, in a section matchup against Pine-Richland on Wednesday afternoon at North Park, Desai shot a school record 7-under 29 to help the Tigers win 176-203.

Last season, Desai was a major part of the team’s WPIAL Class 3A championship, which was its first since 1971. The Tigers also won their first PIAA title in program history, and Desai shot a 4-under 68 in the team championship.

Now, North Allegheny sits atop the Section 3 rankings with a 7-2 record, 14-3 overall.
