At least two people died after a helicopter crashed in Carbon County on Thursday afternoon, multiple news outlets said.

Police and emergency crews were sent to the crash around 3 p.m. near Penn’s Peak concert hall in Penn Forest Township, just outside of Jim Thorpe, according to WFMZ and WNEP .

The Carbon County Coroner’s Office and the National Transportation Safety Board also responded to the scene.

The coroner’s office told WBRE /WYOU that multiple people died as a result of the crash, but the number of fatalities is not known at this time.

As of Thursday afternoon, it is unclear what caused the crash.
