NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - Police have arrested a West Haven man in connection with a sexual assault of a woman who was jogging near a dog park in August.
Ludvi Carias-Interiano, 34, was taken into custody at his home Wednesday morning and charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and first-degree unlawful restraint, according to New Haven police. He is being held on a $750,000 bond.
The arrest stems from an incident that occurred the morning of Aug. 9 in Fort Hale Park, a wooded area near the Fort Hale Dog Park on the city’s east side.
According to police, a woman was out for a run in the park when she was approached and attacked by a man wielding a box cutter.
The suspect sexually assaulted the woman before fleeing the scene.
The victim was later transported to a hospital
