Texas A&M University says it received ‘hoax’ threat, increases security

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Several universities across the U.S. received threats on Thursday, including Texas A&M University.

The university announced the threat it received was a hoax, but has amped up security measures out of an abundance of caution.

Texas A&M was not the only university to receive a threat Thursday. KBTX’s parent company, Gray Media, reported that multiple historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) also received threats on Thursday. Several were placed under lockdown until given the all-clear.
