“Like a hand right out of the glove. I found myself looking down at my own body, but it wasn't me”, said Gabe Poirot. He remembers the day he and his friend John Michael were out riding, going nearly 30 miles per hour, when Gabe’s skateboard struck something in the road, launching him six feet into the air. He came crashing down headfirst onto the pavement, without a helmet. In that instant, their worlds split into two very different experiences.

John Michael recalls, “He was lying unconscious on the ground. Eyes were closed, we're praying over him. Speaking over him like, “Gabe, you're going to live. You're not going to die. You're going to live. You're not going to die.” Just, you know, over and over again.”
