A yellow weather warning has been issued for Leicestershire as strong winds threaten travel disruption and power cuts. The Met Office has warned that gusts of up to 55mph could hit the county.
The alert, which covers large parts of England and Wales, comes into force at 8pm on Sunday (September 14) and will end at 6pm on Monday (September 15). The Met Office has said the conditions could cause "some short term loss of power and other services" across the region.
Strong westerly winds will develop across the county during Sunday evening before strengthening further on Monday morning. With Monday's forecast showing sustained winds of up to 22mph and gusts reaching 50mph, officials have warned that "some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer."
