BUCKEYE, AZ (AZFamily) — One person has died and two others are injured after two semi-trucks crashed on Interstate 10 in Buckeye overnight.

This crash happened on eastbound I-10 just east of Palo Verde Road as troopers were already responding to another crash about two miles away , where three people were killed and two were injured in a rollover.

A spokesperson with the Buckeye Fire Medical Rescue Department said two people were taken to the hospital after the semi-truck crash. Another person was trapped inside a semi and had to be extricated by firefighters. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s unclear what led to this crash. An investigation is still ongoing.

I-10 eastbound remains closed due to both of the deadly crashes. There is no estimated time for the freeway
