Tillsonburg council will wait to determine a location for the community’s new town hall and council chambers despite a plea from member Pete Luciani.

Luciani addressed fellow councillors, urging a decision be made during Monday’s meeting while backing the option to put a new building at the “greyfield” site at the intersection of Brock Street East and Harvey St.

Prior cost estimates for the new building were between $5 million and $9 million, with a portion to be recouped by selling the other potential town hall site at 10 Lisgar Ave. As a temporary measure, council has been meeting at the Long Point Regional Conservation Office on Elm St.
