Kansas State running back Dylan Edwards will return to the field on Friday, Sept. 12, when the Wildcats take on Arizona, according to a national report.

ESPN college football insider Pete Thamel, citing sources, posted on social media that Edwards has been cleared to play when the Wildcats conclude non-conference play at 8 p.m. in Tucson, Arizona.

Edwards injured his left ankle on his first touch of the season when he attempted to retrieve a muffed punt during the Wildcats' Week 0 loss to Iowa State . He didn't play an offensive snap and didn't play against North Dakota and Army.

K-State coach Chris Klieman said Monday that Edwards was "50-50" entering the week, labeling his running back as "questionable to doubtful."
