On Dover Place in Algiers, many of the long-time homeowners have been living with years-old potholes followed by temporary patchwork, just two catch basins for nearly two city blocks, and a years-old eyesore.

"I sent some pictures too, so they came out and they did the patchwork. Very grateful for the patchwork, but it's starting to go back immediately,” said Troy Bush, a former NOPD officer and long-time homeowner on Dover Place.

"Once those two drains get stopped up from everything that comes from this, almost two blocks, it clogs and then the water sits there," Bush explained. Advertisement

"Then the potholes keep the water here. The potholes cause serious accidents," he finished.

Although drainage and roads are their main concerns, the people who live on Dover Place
