NEW ORLEANS —

The University of New Orleans will conduct a test of its campus alert system Friday.

A NOLA Ready alert was sent Friday to notify residents that the alert is just a test. Advertisement

The test will be held at 11 a.m.

The test comes after multiple historically Black colleges and universities received threats across the nation Thursday.

Southern University was placed on lockdown Thursday amid the investigation into the threat received.

Classes were canceled for Friday as a result of the investigation.
