NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A New Orleans family is the subject of a new documentary on elderly abuse.

Letreian Johns spoke with WGNO Moving New Orleans Forward Anchor LBJ about how many families cope with this abuse.

"Yes, believe it or not this type of issue is happening more and more but people, amongst themselves silently they deal with it. And what also is happening because of technology, a lot of elders are being scammed out of money because they're just not understanding, and that's a form of exploitation," said Johns.

"When we talk about the elderly abuse, first thing that would pop into someone's head may be that, you know, someone is being abused physically at maybe an elderly home or maybe, care home or something like that," said LBJ.
