A second high-ranking Democratic elected official in Michigan has received a bomb threat targeting their home.
State Sen. Jeremy Moss, D-Southfield, said the bomb threat he received Thursday, Sept. 11, was detailed and specific.
“Local and state police arrived swiftly, along with a bomb-sniffing dog, to ensure there was no immediate danger,” Moss, the president pro tempore of the Michigan Senate, said. “I am thankful for our law enforcement.”
The threat occurred the same day Democratic Michigan Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist II said he received a credible bomb threat at his Detroit home .
The threats come amid increased political violence across the United States.
