OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - The 8th Annual Ocala Recovery Fest is taking place Saturday, September 13th, from 10 am-3 pm at Tuscawilla Park (829 NE Sanchez Ave).

The free event features resources on recovery, vendors, a kids’ zone, and entertainment.

Ocala leaders say it is a family-friendly event that highlights wellness in the community and an opportunity to come together, celebrate progress, and explore support services.

Lisa Boltin and Michelle Pepin are vendors, and they have both lost children to drug use.

They spoke with TV20’s Kristin Chase about their experience and about their non-profits created from their loss.

Boltin runs The Dandelion Project, focusing on grief, counseling, resources, and awareness. They provide free bereavement boxes to grieving families. They have two events
