BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Baxter State Park officials are asking the public’s help in finding out more information about an act of vandalism.

Officials say that the Baxter Peak summit sign on top of Katahdin was vandalized.

They say the letters “H.M.” and “J.M.” were carved into the wood.

If you have any information regarding the incident, you’re asked to call Baxter State Park Headquarters at 723-5140.
