Twenty-four years ago this week, America woke to smoke, sirens, and scenes we will never forget. On September 11, 2001, radical terrorists tried to break our spirit by attacking innocent people going about an ordinary Tuesday. They failed — because firefighters ran toward danger, neighbors lined up to give blood, and a nation rallied to lift one another up. We remember the fallen, honor the heroes, and recommit to the unity that carried us through those darkest hours.
