A woman captured the horrifying moment her ex-partner slashed her throat on her doorbell camera

Simon Scrimshaw, then 50, had waited in the bushes to attack former partner Rosie Niessen, 28, as she left for her job as a prison officer.

He launched a brutal attack from behind with a Stanley knife, cutting her throat and hacking at her face, neck and hands as she desperately tried to fight him off.

It was only when her father, Roberto Niessen, 55, a doorman, heard her screams and rushed to her aid that the attack ended.

Roberto suffered a deep cut to his leg in the violence.

Scrimshaw was found guilty of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm in January 2024 and was sentenced to 28 years in prison by Nottingham Crown Court.
