Oscar winner Jamie Foxx stars as an Olympic boxing coach in a new movie setting up production in New Jersey.

“ Fight for ’84 ″ is based on the real story of the 1984 United States Olympic boxing team.

The Netflix film, which Foxx is producing, is currently casting local background actors (see details below).

The movie tells the story of how the boxing program was rebuilt after 14 boxers and eight staff members from the U.S. amateur boxing team were killed in a 1980 plane crash while traveling from New York to competitions in Poland.

Four years later, the new Olympic team won 11 medals — nine of them gold — at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles , setting a new record.
