DULUTH — A 72-year-old Duluth man was arrested Thursday evening for allegedly making threats to shoot out the windows of Laura MacArthur School.
According to the Duluth Police Department, the man made the threats at approximately 6 p.m.
Officers then went to his home on the 5500 block of West Sixth Street, which is across the park adjacent to the school, and arrested him.
He is being held at the St. Louis County Jail on a preliminary charge of threats of violence. The News Tribune typically does not name suspects until they are formally charged.
Police said an assault rifle, a shotgun and various ammunition were found in his home when they executed a search warrant.
