GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and influencer, was murdered at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, causing a ripple effect across the nation.

In response to Kirk's death, more than 100 people gathered for a candlelight vigil at Colorado Mesa University on Thursday night, organized by the local chapter of Turning Point USA.

Jason Bias, the former president of the Turning Point USA chapter at Colorado Mesa University, emphasized the importance of non-violence, stating, "We don't need to revert, resort to violence, especially gun violence and killing of leadership with someone who has no political power."

The vigil was attended by both students and community members, reflecting a shared desire for peaceful solutions to political disagreements.
