One person was arrested and another is at large after police say the suspects set a Colorado Springs residence on fire with fireworks in July.

Officers responded around midnight July 5 to a structure fire in the 1100 block of Harrison Road and learned that someone shot fireworks at the residence from a vehicle, according to a blotter entry from city police.

Five occupants escaped the home and it was deemed a total loss, the entry stated.

Police obtained arrest warrants Wednesday for Michelle Torres, 21, and Xavier Resendez, 23, after they were identified as suspects in the investigation.

They face charges of first-degree arson, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment, according to the entry. Torres was arrested Thursday, and Resendez is still at large.
