WINDHAM COUNTY, Conn. (WTNH) — Fall is almost here, and luckily for Connecticut residents, we have some of the most beautiful fall foliage in the country right in our own backyards.

New England is known for its foliage, with people flocking to places like Vermont and Maine during the autumn months to get a sight of some beautiful fall hues.

One travel website gave Connecticut some recognition for it's foliage, calling one of our state highways an "underrated place to see fall foliage in New England."

TravelHost.com put State Route 169 on it's list, a highway that begins in Norwich and runs through the "quiet corner" of the state in Windham County.
