A probe has been launched by police after a teen girl was sexually assaulted in a woodland next to a Scots high school. ‌

The incident took place at around 2.30pm on September 11 when a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a man while walking through the grassy area, between Dunnikier Way and Hendry Road in Kirkcaldy. ‌

The man is described as white, with short hair and was wearing a light and dark coloured jacket and had a face covering. ‌

He left on a bicycle on Dunniker Way in the direction of the roundabout at Hendry Road.

The walkway was cornered off by police while forensics scoured the scene. Images show a police car at the scene with a police cordon erected and several cops examining the area.

‌It is understood the police are not treating the attack
