A Korean Air Boeing 747-8 charter flight carrying more than 300 South Korean workers arrived at Incheon International Airport on Friday, September 12, after their detention in a US immigration raid in Georgia. The group had been held following a last week operation at a Hyundai battery plant site near Savannah and was released after days of negotiations between Seoul and Washington.
Korean Air remains one of the few airlines still operating Boeing’s 747 passenger variant, alongside its fleet of freighters. According to ch-aviation data, the carrier has five passenger 747-8i aircraft in active service, which are primarily deployed on high-capacity routes linking South Korea with the United States, Europe, and major cities across Asia.
