OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A man is facing possible prison time for allegedly attacking an Omaha Police Officer with a knife.

44-year-old Adan Castro-Lozano is charged with assault of an officer and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

According to an arrest affidavit, about two weeks ago, officers were investigating reports of a suspicious person with a knife.

They found Castro-Lozano near 24th and Martha streets, and police say he ran.

An officer tried to push him down, then Castro-Lozano allegedly cut the officer on the hand.

The affidavit says that the officer, who was still bleeding profusely, managed to tase the suspect, leading to his arrest.

During a court appearance yesterday, a judge set Castro-Lozano’s bond at $50,000.
