BEAUFORT, S.C. (WCSC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office says the fifth suspect in a shooting that killed a 17-year-old girl in Burton last year has been transferred to the Beaufort County Detention Center.

Jayvon Andrew Garrett, of Beaufort, is charged with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and aggravated breach of peace, deputies say.

Garrett is charged in the September 2024 shooting at Magnolia Park Apartments that killed Arianna Mulligan and hurt two others.

Deputies say he was transferred to the Beaufort County jail on Friday from Charleston County’s Al Cannon Detention Center, where he had been held since his arrest the day after the Burton shooting in an armed robbery case.
