WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. (KDVR) — Hundreds of students from multiple schools within the Jefferson County School District walked out of class Friday to protest gun violence and show solidarity for Evergreen High School.

On Wednesday at 12:24 p.m., a student opened fire both inside and outside of the school, resulting in three people being injured, one of whom was the shooter, who later died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

As of Friday morning, a spokesperson for St. Anthony Hospital said one of the victims was still in critical condition, while the other victim, who was transferred to Children’s Hospital Colorado, is in serious condition.
