EVERGREEN, Colo. (KDVR) — Less than a week after a deadly shooting shook Evergreen High School, senior Judah Cox is turning heartbreak into hope.
The 18-year-old musician wrote an original song the day after the attack, channeling fear and faith into lyrics about courage, loss and trusting God through uncertainty.
“I felt like God was truly putting it on my heart to just sit down and write,” Cox said. “The words just spilled out — I was crying at the piano and didn’t know what else to say.”
Cox wasn’t on campus during the shooting, but his younger brother, a freshman, was inside the school. He said the hours of waiting to learn his brother was safe inspired the emotional ballad.
