NEWARK — A man has been arrested and charged in a May 2021 shooting of another man that happened outside the suspect’s home, according to authorities and court documents.

The suspect, Terry Franklin, 28 — who police said at one point had fled out of state — has been charged with attempted murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle, and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence.

The shooting happened the evening of May 25, 2021 outside a residence in the 37000 block of Saint Matthew Drive, where Franklin was living at the time, court documents say. Officers responding to a call of gunfire located evidence of a shooting, including damage to several vehicles and at least one residence. But no victims were found at the scene.
