GREENWICH VILLAGE, Manhattan (PIX11) -- Police are searching for a suspect in connection with an attempted bank robbery in Greenwich Village on Friday morning.

The incident happened around 9:40 a.m. at the Chase Bank at 204 West 4th Street.

Police say an individual entered the bank and approached an employee, sliding a note demanding money.

The employee reportedly refused, and the suspect fled, police say. No weapon was displayed during the incident.

Police say the suspect is a man last seen wearing all black and a red hat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
