PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Fall Rod Run is now underway in Pigeon Forge. The event attracts thousands of car enthusiasts each year and is one of the area’s largest automotive gatherings. While this three-day event brings in tourists and revenue, it also brings safety concerns, and traffic.
Although the main event takes place at the LeConte Center, rod runners fill the 441 Parkway.
“It's always been a lot of traffic and patience, It's pretty much always been like this,” said Freddy Pullen, an attendee from Georgia.
Pullen said he has been attending Rod Run since it was held in Gatlinburg in the 1970’s, since then he said a lot has changed.
“The biggest change, the street rodders don't get out like they used to, because it's just a full of regular cars,” said Pullen.
