Shute Park Library is closed and three people are being treated in the hospital after a multi-car crash ended with one vehicle shattering two plate glass windows of the building.

It’s not clear how the collision occurred, but photos from the scene show a truck resting in the landscaping outside the library while a damaged sports car is stopped on the road.

Hillsboro fire crews responded to the crash on Southeast 10th Avenue near Maple Street before noon Friday.

City officials said five people in total suffered non-life-threatening injuries, with three taken to local hospitals for further treatment.
