New Haven nonprofit Legacy Developmental Services is actively working to develop more options for teens and young adults with severe autism.

Legacy Developmental Services was founded by Brenda Moore and her husband William; their focus is to provide services and programs for young adults that have disabilities, with a special focus on severe autism.

Moore said it was their 18-year-old son Bill who inspired the idea to create an adaptive boxing program, after realizing the lack of recreational activities for teens with severe autism.
