PLACERVILLE, Calif. —
Could you identify a native plant in your area? What about knowing other ways to use them?
A free family-friendly event in El Dorado County is taking place on Sept. 21 that features artists interacting with plants in creative ways.
Ripe Area 2024: The Art of Native Plants Festival is being held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wakamatsu Farm at 941 Cold Springs Road in Placerville. While the event is free, people are encouraged to pay $10 per car for parking.
Elena DeLacy, the executive director of the American River Conservancy, and Myrtle Tree Arts co-founders Ameera Godwin and Paul Godwin joined KCRA 3 on Friday to share more about the event and demonstrate the sounds some plants make when hooked up to bioelectric sensors.
