FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — City voters will head to the polls Tuesday to narrow the field of candidates vying to be mayor of Fall River.

The four candidates are third-term incumbent Paul Coogan, Gabriel Amaral, Carlos Cesar and Michael Vandal. (A fifth candidate, business owner Christopher Silvia, filed paperwork to run but dropped out of the race last month.)

Fall River is one of several Bristol County communities that have city elections scheduled this year.

The top two vote-getters in Tuesday's contest will advance to the general election on Nov. 4.
