A Rock Hill man has been convicted of killing a man during a shooting at a race at the Lancaster Motor Speedway more than three years ago.
6th Circuit Solicitor Randy Newman announced Friday, September 12, that 40-year-old Bryan Terrell Mitchell of Rock Hill was found guilty of murdering 53-year-old Rodney Cunningham after a four-day trial. The court gave the jury the option to convict Mitchell of either murder or voluntary manslaughter; Newman said the jury convicted him on the murder charge, along with possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
While prosecutors did ask for Terell to face a life sentence, Newman said Judge Vernon Dunbar sentenced Mitcell
