COLUMBIA, S.C. — Fair season is almost here, and the South Carolina State Fair is giving food lovers a reason to get excited.

This year, the fair will debut 15 brand-new foods from Oct. 8–19, with everything from gourmet fries to deep-fried cheesecake. Discount tickets are on sale now at Circle K locations and online at scstatefair.org .

Among the new concessions are:

Jim’s Fries : offering gourmet cut fries, sweet potato fries, and deep-fried baby spuds.

Giant Tenderloin Sandwich : a breaded, oversized pork tenderloin stacked with toppings.

Cantina Louie : serving burrito bowls, nachos, and corn on the stick.

Brody’s Mac & Cheese : featuring smoky Gouda mac, Piggyback Mac, and more.
