The Pittsburgh field office of the FBI assisted along with several others in the investigation into Tyler Robinson, who was apprehended in Utah late Thursday after a 33-hour manhunt following the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Mr. Kirk, a 31-year-old conservative activist and ally of President Donald Trump whom the White House credits for galvanizing young Republican voters, was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon at an outdoor event at Utah Valley University, south of Salt Lake City.

FBI Director Kash Patel did not offer specifics on how FBI Pittsburgh contributed to the case.

But in a news conference Friday morning alongside Utah Gov. Spencer Cox announcing Mr. Robinson’s arrest, Mr. Patel said field offices in Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, San Antonio, Las Vegas and Buff
