Top contributors from weekend tournament winners were featured prominently in the nominees for the Week 3 Alabama Volleyball Player of the Week and one of those ended up with a majority of the votes in poll. Another finished in second place.

Briarwood Christian earned the Mayor’s Cup in Montgomery and sophomore Leighton Hendley walked away with the Volleyball Player of the Week honors. Briarwood, No. 3 in 5A, beat 4A No. 1 Prattville Christian (2-0), 6A No. 1 Spanish Fort (2-1) and 6A No. 8 Montgomery Academy 2-0 in the championship.
