WASHINGTON — The National Park Service is looking for public input on the proposed Fallen Journalists Memorial . Specifically, the NPS is seeking public comment on the "environmental assessment."
The memorial honoring journalists who have “lost their lives in service to a free press” would be located on a site at the intersection of Independence Avenue, Maryland Avenue, and 3rd Street, Southwest.
A mass shooting at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis that took the lives of five people served as the inspiration for the memorial. You can learn more about the project and also contribute your comment by clicking here .
