CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Panda Fest, the outdoor Asian food festivals being held in Ballantyne this weekend, has shut down two hours early Friday.

On the event's opening day, officials closed at 7 p.m. citing an "unforeseen emergency." They wrote the following on their social media accounts:

"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. We’re incredibly thankful for all of your support and patience as we work hard to resolve the issue and ensure that the next two days run smoothly.”

The announcement came as visitors were still in line to attend the event at the Ballantyne Bowl.

Festival-goers who had a time slot after 6 p.m., can use their ticket for re-entry on Saturday or Sunday.
