Police are investigating an apparent case of road rage involving a motorcycle and a Mercedes off Highway 1 in West Vancouver.

West Van police said a motorcyclist pulled up next to a grey Mercedes on the Taylor Way off-ramp off Hwy. 1 just after 7:45 p.m. on Monday.

There was an “exchange of words” between the motorbike rider and the Mercedes driver, which escalated into physical violence with the motorcyclist allegedly smashing the other vehicle’s driver’s side-view mirror, and damaging the front door and fender panels.

Police said they’re still working to determine the facts of the case but warned that road disagreements that escalate to violence, property damage or aggressive driving can result in Motor Vehicle Act tickets or criminal charges.
