Thanks to a “miracle play,” St. Joseph’s of Hammonton rallied for a 12-6 victory over Absegami in overtime in a West Jersey Football League Liberty Division game.
St. Joseph’s coach Ron Dorsey said a ricochet touchdown pass from quarterback Anthony Salamone to wide receiver Cole Brubaker was the remarkable play that tied the game at 6-6 with less than three minutes to play in regulation of the game in Hammonton.
“Anthony was hit as he threw it,” Dorsey said. “The Absegami safety tipped it, then it hit off the helmet of one of our players, and went right to Cole’s chest in the end zone.”
