Rep. John Larson launched his re-election campaign, laying out his plan to fend off a field of challengers in a possible primary next year.

“Let's go forward and win this fight on behalf of all American citizens,” Larson (D-1st District) said to a union hall full of supporters in East Hartford.

Larson, first elected to Congress in 1998, is facing a potential challenge from four Democrats looking to push for change within the party.

That group includes former Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin, Rep. Jillian Gilchrest (D-West Hartford), Hartford school board member Ruth Fortune and Southington Town Council member Jack Perry.
